The Kerala Fiber Optic Network (KFON) initiative is a landmark project by the state government aimed at providing high-speed, reliable internet as a basic right to all citizens.
Specifically designed to bridge the digital divide, the scheme offers free broadband connections to economically weaker sections and BPL families, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to education, digital services,
and employment opportunities. For those not eligible for the free scheme, KFON provides highly affordable high-speed plans starting as low as ₹299, making it a powerful and cost-effective alternative to private internet service providers across the state.
To apply for a free KFON internet connection, eligible households in Kerala can follow these steps to submit their application through the official digital channels:
1. Access the Official Portal
Visit the official KFON website or the dedicated registration portal. Look for the section labeled “Free Internet Connection” or “Eligible Households Registration.”
2. Mobile Verification
Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. You will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) to verify your identity and start the application process.
3. Fill in Personal Details
Provide the following information accurately:
-
Full Name (as per Aadhaar/Ration Card)
-
Complete Residential Address (including House Number and Ward)
-
District and Local Body (Panchayat/Municipality/Corporation)
4. Enter Identification Details
