There is no wonder why agencies say that a gas cylinder can last up to 4 months.

Some scientific reasons that help prevent gas leakage and avoid wastage through proper use are as follows. If these are followed correctly, the life of the gas cylinder can definitely be increased.

Things to keep in mind to save gas (The ‘Secret’ Reasons)
Cook in cold conditions:
Many people heat milk, vegetables, etc. kept in the refrigerator directly on the stove. Keep the food taken from the refrigerator outside until it cools down before putting it in the stove. Otherwise, it will cost more gas to heat that cold.

Turn on the flame only after placing the pot:
Some people turn on the gas before placing the pot on the stove. If you do this, the heat that should reach the pot is lost to the atmosphere. Turn on the gas only after filling the pot with food.

Size of cookers and pots:
Always use a burner according to the size of the pot. If you put a small pot on a large burner, the gas will leak out through the sides and be wasted. Similarly, use a pressure cooker to cook food quickly. This significantly reduces time and gas consumption.

Clean the burners daily:
If the pores in the burner are clogged with dirt, the color of the fire will change from blue to yellow. Yellow fire is a sign of gas wastage. Washing the burners with hot water and soap once a week can give you a blue fire and save gas.

Cook with the pot closed:
When cooking in an open pot, the heat goes out. If you close the pot with a lid (cover), the heat stays inside and the food cooks faster.

Cook at the same time:
When preparing multiple dishes, chop everything in advance. If it is too late to put the next one in, don’t forget to turn off the gas in between.
