Reasons for Heart Attack

Atherosclerosis: Cholesterol, fat, and calcium build up on the walls of the arteries, narrowing the arteries. This restricts blood flow.

High Blood Pressure: Uncontrolled BP damages the arteries and makes them stiff.

Diabetes: High blood sugar levels damage the arteries and increase the risk of heart attack.

Smoking: Smoking damages the arteries and increases the risk of blood clots.

Obesity: Obesity puts more strain on the heart. This leads to BP, cholesterol, and diabetes.

Lifestyle: Lack of exercise, excessive stress, and foods high in fat and salt affect heart health.

Family history: If someone in your family has had a heart attack before, you are genetically more likely to have it.
