The main reasons and risk factors for this are as follows:

Causes of bowel cancer
Polyps: Polyps are small growths of cells that grow on the inside of the bowel. Although most of them are non-cancerous, some types of polyps can become cancerous over time.

Dietary habits:

\

Red meat & processed food: Eating too much processed foods like red meat, sausage, and bacon increases the risk.

Lack of fiber: Eating a diet low in vegetables, fruits, and whole grains and low in fiber can affect bowel health.

Lifestyle: Obesity, lack of exercise, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption increase the risk of bowel cancer.

Age and heredity: People over 50 are more likely to develop the disease. If someone in your family has had the disease before, it is likely to be genetically transmitted.

Other diseases: Chronic inflammation of the intestines, such as ‘Inflammatory Bowel Disease’ (IBD) (e.g. ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease), increases the risk of cancer if it persists for a long time.

Diabetes: People with type 2 diabetes are at a higher risk of developing bowel cancer than others.
