Main causes of kidney stones

Drinking less water (Dehydration): This is the most important cause of kidney stones. When you do not drink enough water, your urine becomes concentrated, and the salts that cause stones (calcium, oxalate, uric acid) stick together and form stones.

Dietary habits:

Excessive salt intake: Eating more salt increases the excretion of calcium through the urine, which can lead to the formation of stones.

Excessive protein intake: Eating foods high in protein, such as red meat, increases uric acid in the body.

Oxalate-rich foods: Excessive consumption of chocolate, certain types of nuts, and spinach can cause stones in some people.

Obesity: Obesity changes the chemical composition of urine and increases the risk of stones.

Medical conditions: Some people are genetically predisposed to excreting excess salts in the urine. Conditions such as hyperparathyroidism can also cause this.

Medications: Overuse of certain types of vitamin supplements and BP medications can also cause stones.
