Main causes of Rheumatoid Arthritis:

Autoimmune Disease:
The main cause of rheumatoid arthritis is when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own healthy cells and the lining of the joints (synovium). This causes severe swelling and swelling in the joints.

Genetics:
If parents or close relatives in the family have rheumatoid arthritis, you are more likely to develop it genetically. People with certain genetic makeup may have a more vulnerable immune system.

Hormonal changes:
Women are more likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis than men. One reason for this is that changes in hormones such as estrogen affect the immune system.

Smoking and other environmental factors:
People who smoke or are exposed to certain bacterial/viral infections are twice as likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis genetically.

Other causes of knee pain besides arthritis:
Osteoarthritis: This is knee pain caused by the wear and tear of the cartilage in the knee as we age.

Injuries: Injuries to the ligaments or meniscus in the knee, whether from a fall or from playing sports.

Gout: The buildup of uric acid in the joints can also cause knee pain.

Obesity: As you gain weight, you can put more pressure on your knees and experience pain.
