There is a big difference between Headache and Migraine. Migraine is more severe than a normal headache and has specific symptoms. The reasons behind both of them are given below:

1. Tension Headache – Causes
This is the most common type of headache.

Stress: Excessive stress at work or in life tightens the muscles in the head and neck.

Muscle spasm: Tension in the muscles in the neck and head due to sitting in the same position for a long time (e.g. using a computer) and using the wrong pillow.

Fatigue and lack of sleep: Not getting enough sleep and not getting enough rest for the body.

Dehydration: Not drinking enough water can cause headaches.

2. Migraine – Causes
A migraine is a complex dysfunction of the blood vessels and nervous system in the brain. There are many reasons behind this:

Genetics: If there is a family history of migraines, you are more likely to get them.

Hormonal changes: Changes in hormones (estrogen) before and after menstruation in women can trigger migraines.

Food: Certain foods (e.g. chocolate, stale foods, high caffeine, certain types of cheese) can trigger migraines in some people.

Environment: Bright light, excessive noise, the smell of perfumes, and weather changes.

Neurological changes: Changes in the function of the trigeminal nerve in the brain cause excessive pain.
