Main causes of shoulder pain

Rotator Cuff Injury: This is the main cause of injury to the muscles and tendons that hold the bones of the shoulder together. This can happen when lifting or falling heavy objects.

Frozen Shoulder: This is a condition in which the arm cannot be moved due to stiffness and inflexibility in the shoulder joints. It is seen in people with diabetes and those who have been bedridden for a long time.

Bursitis: A condition in which the fluid-filled sacs called bursa that reduce friction in the joints become inflamed. Some activities that involve the shoulder (for example, painting, sports) can cause this.

Tendinitis: Inflammation of the tendons where muscles connect to bones.

Arthritis: Wear and tear on the shoulder joints can cause pain and swelling.

Neck Problems (Referred Pain): Sometimes pain can spread to the shoulders due to problems with the bones or discs in the neck.

Bad Habits: Working in front of a computer for long periods of time can put pressure on the shoulder muscles.
