Eating food quickly: Swallowing air along with food (Aerophagia) is the main cause of gas. Eating food in a hurry and talking while eating causes a lot of air to enter the stomach.
Foods that are difficult to digest: Legumes (beans, peas), cabbage, cauliflower, and sprouted grains contain some carbohydrates that are difficult to digest. When these react with bacteria in the intestines, gas is produced.
Intolerance: Some people do not have the necessary enzymes in their body to digest dairy products (Lactose Intolerance) or wheat products (Gluten sensitivity). Eating these causes severe gas and bloating in the stomach.
Excessively spicy and fried foods: Foods fried in oil and excessive spicy foods increase the acidity of the stomach and slow down the digestive process. Gas is formed when food takes a long time to digest.
Constipation and poor bowel function: In people with constipation, waste remains in the intestines and gas is formed there. Along with this, excessive mental stress also increases gas problems.
Natural ways to reduce gas problems:
Chew food well: Chew food as slowly as possible. This helps the enzymes needed for digestion to mix with saliva.
Cumin and ginger: Cumin is the best for digestion. Boiling cumin in water and drinking it will quickly reduce gas. Chewing ginger or drinking ginger tea will increase digestive juices.
Walk after meals: Walking slowly for 10-15 minutes after lunch will help expel gas from the intestines and speed up digestion.
Small dinner: Avoid eating late at night. Eat dinner at least 2 hours before going to bed.
Probiotics: Yogurt and buttermilk contain a lot of good bacteria (probiotics). These improve the digestive process in the intestines.
