The main causes of black urine
Bladder filling too quickly: When you urinate too quickly when your bladder is overfull, air and urine can mix, causing black urine. This is completely normal.
Dehydration: When you don’t drink enough water, your urine becomes more concentrated, which can cause black urine.
Proteinuria: This is something to watch out for. Excess protein (especially albumin) in the body can cause black urine. This happens when the kidneys are not functioning properly.
Kidney disease: When the kidneys are unable to filter the blood effectively, protein gets mixed in the urine. This can be a sign of long-term kidney disease.
Diabetes: When blood sugar levels increase due to diabetes, it can affect the kidneys and cause protein to be passed in the urine.
High blood pressure (High BP): If BP is not controlled, it can damage the small blood vessels in the kidneys and cause protein in the urine.
Medications: The use of certain medications can also cause this.
