Causes of Urine Infection

Bacterial activity: The main cause of this is the bacteria E. coli. This bacteria, found near the anus, causes infection when it enters the urethra.

Poor personal hygiene: Not maintaining proper hygiene can cause the spread of bacteria. After urinating, one should wipe from front to back (in women). Wiping from back to front causes bacteria to reach the urethra.

Retaining urine: If urine remains in the bladder for a long time, bacteria are likely to multiply. Therefore, care should be taken to urinate on time.

Insufficient water intake: Not drinking enough water daily reduces the body’s ability to expel bacteria through the urethra.

Sexual intercourse: Sexual activity can push bacteria into the urethra.

Other diseases: People with diabetes are more likely to get infections due to low immunity. People with kidney stones are also more likely to get urine infections.

Hygiene during menstruation: Not changing pads properly and poor hygiene during menstruation can lead to infection.
